Jo is the owner of the award winning ‘Y.A.P Bridal Boutique’ she is renowned for her passion of quality in service, attention to detail, genuine personality and a love of life. You Are Precious Bridal was created to deliver an unquestionable, unique service coupled with gorgeous gowns.
“I am so thrilled to have been asked to judge ‘The North of England Wedding Awards’. I understand the importance of great service, especially during this important part of your life, when the choices you make, make the difference. An ‘experience’ within any sector should be excellent always – what creates excellence in my view is a quality skill set across the board of your industry. At Y.A.P we say we deliver a quality service, which we do. However, saying you do deliver quality and doing it are two very different things. Quality is only a word if it does not include harmony, balance, passion, intention and attention. These qualities put together deliver an ‘unquestionable service’.
When we do staff training at our boutique, I always end by saying – “that great businesses are not built by extraordinary people but by ordinary people doing extraordinary things”! x
“I have worked within our city for years and I am passionate about Newcastle. I feel we deserve nothing but the best in choice and service”.

Liz and Nicola Clark – The Wedding Guide
Launched in 2000, The Wedding Guide for Yorkshire & North East England has gone from strength to strength becoming the ubiquitous ‘bible’ for thousands of brides to be throughout the region. Liz & Tim Clark, along with their daughter Nicola run their business according to their strong, traditional, family values. Customer service, value for money, trust and personal service are vital to enable you to feel confident in our product. The fact that many of our customers are still working with us after more than 10 years shows it works.
The Wedding Guide is the indispensable guide to help brides plan their wedding available free from wedding fairs, bridal shops and Register Offices throughout the whole of Yorkshire and the North East. It offers a highly targeted marketing approach to Yorkshire and North East brides to be, providing information and recommendation of Yorkshire and North East wedding suppliers just when they need it most.
The Wedding Guide works hard to create a winning blend of personal contact (at exhibitions), with printed matter (The Wedding Guide book) and virtual media (web & e-mail). This ‘marketing cocktail’ is perhaps the most distinctive blend we can offer bridal businesses, combined with our personal approach and care for the needs of brides to be and businesses alike.
Many of our wedding suppliers value their association with other businesses through The Wedding Guide. We believe there is substantial marketing strength to be gained from association with a geographical network of specialists.
In order to give even greater recognition to the outstanding service offered by many fantastic businesses throughout the two regions, the North of England Wedding Awards in association with The Wedding Guide were recently launched. Nicola has been the driving force behind this project and has gone to great lengths to make sure everything will run as smoothly as possible. Liz & Nicola have been overwhelmed by the response and look forward to making this an annual event on the calendar.
