Rofelyn & Jonathan, Goldsborough Hall Wedding, DJB Photography

There is nothing like pastel yellow as a colour to get you thinking about spring and to brighten your day?  This was the colour of choice for Rofelyn and Jonathan’s wedding, who married at St John The Baptist Church in Knaresborough, before celebrating with their friends and family at the truly stunning location of Goldsborough Hall.

Rofelyn and Jonathan met in 2011 whilst both living in Singapore and got engaged on the banks of Loch Lomond four year later.  Personal recommendation was the main way in which Rofelyn and Jonathan found their main suppliers for their wedding, finding each company a pleasure to deal and work with.  The really important things to get right for Rofelyn and Jonathan were the wedding dress and the venue as they are the things that people really notice.  Rofelyn’s dress was bespokely designed in Singapore, and the choice of pastel yellow for the bridesmaids dresses complemented the groomsmen’s cravats and the style of wedding perfectly.

Choosing the right photographer in Damian of DJB Photography was also important so as to have a great record of their special day.  The photograph album is one of the few things a couple keep to remind themselves of such an amazing and special day, so the style of photography, and the right photographer, is particularly important.  Capturing their day from bridal preparations through to first dance and beyond, the photographs tell the story of the day in a beautiful bespoke designed album.

Rofelyn and Jonathan travelled in an elegant white 1950’s Rolls Royce and were met with a very warm welcome by Goldsborough Hall.  Drinks and canapé’s were served before the couple had some time to themselves to explore the grounds whilst natural photographs were taken to capture some lovely intimate moments.

Some top tips Rofelyn and Jonathan would like to share to help with the planning of your wedding day:

  1. Give yourself plenty of time to plan the wedding (not less than 6 months) and get key items such as wedding dress, venue, photographer, flowers, cake and guest invitations arranged very early in the process.
  2. If you are getting married in a church, use the church flowers as table decorations.
  3. The day passes extremely quickly so take time out during the day to absorb the atmosphere and see people having fun.
