The Enchanted Florist work with you to individually design your beautiful wedding and venue flowers to compliment your personal style and budget. We cover the whole of the North East of England, from the borders to North Yorkshire, and work with couples from around the UK and globally who choose the North East as their wedding destination.
We first met Emma and Ashleigh, back in February 2016, when we exhibited for our very first time at Derwent Manor’s wedding fair. The girls had already booked the hotel as their wedding venue after the beautiful refurbishment and seeing the stunning chandelier and the gorgeous staircase in The Grand Hall. They booked their first consultation on the day of the wedding fair and we arranged to meet at Ashleigh’s mum’s house the following month when the girls were back on leave.
Consultations are hugely important to us, not to just talk flowers but to learn about our couples, what their style is, what inspires their wedding and most importantly what their wedding dreams are.
Emma and Ashleigh had already chosen their colour scheme which was navy bridesmaids, classical and elegant whites and creams and with the addition of a little bling and silver. The girls had their own bridesmaids who would have navy dresses but they would each choose their dresses for their own bridesmaids. This also went for their beautiful wedding dresses. Ashleigh and Emma kept the secret of their individual dress design from each other, as a beautiful surprise each other on the day.
Emma’s dress shopping didn’t go too well after trying several boutiques in and around her local town. She had one last appointment in Dalston which she very nearly cancelled with the stress of the dress hunt. Her maid of honour put on the pressure and she was persuaded to go. The staff and customer service in which Emma received in that boutique made all the difference in her choosing and she eventually chose her beautiful Ella Rose gown. Emma added a back piece to her gown which was truly stunning.Ashleigh’s wedding dress was bought from Rosina Brown in Stocksfield and it was designed by Victoria Jane. This dress had good wedding omens for Ashleigh as her middle name was Jane, was the seventh dress she tried on and it was the only dress that made Ashleigh’s mum burst into tears. This is always a good sign!
The cake was designed by Emma and Ashleigh and baked and supplied by Amanti Cupcakes Tina Katsighhiras-Wilson who not only visually achieved the couples beautiful navy and silver theme but also, was I’m told, totally delicious.
Ashleigh and Emma chose other suppliers who are based in our wedding studio. Sarah Thew provided beautiful and stunning photography on their beautiful wedding day. Ashleigh remembers watching Sarah wiping tears from her eyes from behind the lens as she made her speech. Capturing emotional and beautiful moments on the day is vital for your wedding photographer, as is having a good and comfortable relationship with someone who will be capturing your forever memories and spending time with you and your family. Sarah and Peter ticked all of the boxes.
Wedding stationary and venue stationary was designed by the lovely Silver Birch Design who took the colour palette of the couple and created an elegant design in her signature embossed wallet design, tying in Emma’s request of sparkle while maintaining a beautifully classy style. From the beautiful wedding invitations which were designed at the early stages of their wedding plans, Janette then went on to design and create venue and table stationary. A beautiful addition to every wedding.
The Enchanted Florist (me) designed the bridal party and venue flowers and decor. We kept the flowers simple but elegant in beautiful creams and whites, ensuring that both of our brides bouquets were different. We used avalanche roses, spray roses, sweet peas, ranunculus, freesia, tulips and lisianthus in Emma and Ashleigh’s design and carried on this flower theme through ceremony and top table flowers. We chose crisp green foliage to compliment their colour scheme and desired flower design.
Decorating the aisle with manzanita trees with sparkle and globes with tea lights to create ambiance and romance, lots of staggered cylinder vases with floating candles and floating flowers and the grand staircase with tall arrangements standing on crystal chandeliars
We then stayed for change over to completely redesign the ceremony to wedding breakfast. Installing a table scape with lots of candle light, glass and flowers and transformed the aisle decor to guest table decor. Ashleigh cried tears of happiness when she walked into the transformed room. That is the moment I always strive for when deigning a wedding, tears of happiness, an Enchanted Wedding.
The wedding team at Derwent Manor provided a spectacular day with the care and attention to detail that every wedding day deserves. Both Emma and Ashleigh chose to come down the beautiful staircase with their own dads, their own set of bridesmaids and to their own special choice of music. There was not a dry eye in the room, from their families, from us wedding professionals or from the amazing wedding team at Derwent Manor.
It was a truly beautiful, memorable day and on the 4th anniversary of when Emma and Ashleigh met when competing against each other in a football match, they sealed their love for one another with words that will keep them together forever. On the 24th March 2013, Ashleigh’s team won that day and also won the heart of Emma. Ashleigh still insists she is the better footballer.
We would like to wish Ashleigh and Emma a beautiful and happy future together, we met because of their wedding flowers but we became really good friends.
