Leading wedding venue Clevedon Hall has unveiled a new secluded cottage on the estate which provides a perfect hideaway for brides-to-be and their bridesmaids the night before their wedding.

With an enclosed garden and private parking, the cottage has been built in a historic stone building, which once formed part of the original stable block, to the side of the main hall building.

Over five months, the cottage has been transformed from a storage building into a beautiful self-catering accommodation.

With a luxurious double bedroom with ensuite and two fold-down sofa beds, the cottage can comfortably sleep a group of six.

It also boasts a fully equipped kitchenette perfect for rustling up a homecooked meal for those who fancy a cosy evening in.

The Clevedon Hall team worked closely with Bristol-based Simple Simon Design to furnish the interiors in a modern but classic style.

The cottage is the latest new feature at Clevedon Hall where the team has been overseeing ongoing improvements ever since the Victorian mansion was first unveiled as a luxury wedding and private events location in 2010.

Following the completion of a six-year £4.5 million restoration and refurbishment project last year, there has been further work on the hall’s extensive grounds creating an idyllic woodland walk and bridge over the lake, perfect for the wedding photos.

John McCarthy, sales and marketing director at Clevedon Hall said: “The cottage makes a wonderful cosy place to stay for brides who want a night in with friends before their wedding.

“It’s also perfect for family or friends travelling from further afield who need somewhere to stay.

“Set apart from the rest of the house, it offers total privacy to whoever stays. We’ve tried to stay true to the character of the rustic stone building while providing every modern comfort.

“This is the latest stage in ongoing exciting improvements and developments at Clevedon Hall. There’s plenty more to come.”

With several elegant reception rooms ranging from the Great Hall to the intimate Snug, Clevedon Hall can cater for up to 250 guests in comfort and style.

The house is surrounded by extensive landscaped gardens with a stunning outdoor wedding space which can seat up to 150 guests, where couples can tie the knot overlooking the lake – weather permitting.

Michelin-trained executive chef Alan Jones, who has previously worked at Michelin starred Lucknam Park and Cowley Manor, ensures that all Clevedon Hall’s guests are treated to fantastic food.
