A Yorkshire-based wedding supplier has won a prestigious industry award, just 12 months after battling a life-threatening heart-attack.
Forever To Hold, which was established in January 2017 by co-directors Sarah Weatherill and Lisa Husband, has been named Best New Business at the North of England Wedding awards.
Sponsored by Leeds based PR agency, MacComms, the category seeks to celebrate client service excellence in the sector and recognise businesses that go the extra mile for customers.
The award comes after Sarah, who was born with transportation of the great arteries and has a pacemaker fitted, sadly suffered a serious heart attack in August 2016.
Determined not to let the heart attack beat her, businesswoman Sarah Weatherhill has since grown the business significantly and partnered with co-director, Lisa Husband to provide wedding clients in the region with bespoke artificial wedding flowers.
The North of England Wedding Awards, which took place on 18th September 2017 at York Race Course, is organised by leading industry magazine, the Wedding Guide UK.
The awards, which saw more than 450 people in attendance, seeks to celebrate client service excellence in the sector and recognise businesses that go the extra mile for their customers.
Initially starting out as a hobby, Sarah founded the business after having sought artificial flowers for her own wedding. Sarah found that these were poor quality and extremely expensive.
Working seven days a week and looking after her two children, as well as creating flowers to sell on an evening took its toll on Sarah, but determined to keep business going, she continued working from her Leeds hospital bed after recovering from her ordeal.
The two entrepreneurs, currently work from St Hilda’s Business Centre in Whitby, but have firm plans to set up a shop soon.
“We are so grateful to all of our brides that nominated us for the award, we cannot thank them enough. We have been on cloud nine since we were announced as the winner, it is such a great achievement in such a short time.”
